David Gatchell, who had his middle name changed from "Leroy" to "None of the Above" last year, is suing to get his name to appear that way on the November ballot in
Tennessee where he's running as an independent for governor and the U.S. Senate.
Lawmakers are uneasy though because they insist the change would be too confusing, and it also runs into dangerous territory.
"Using words like 'low tax' is akin to campaigning on the ballot," said state Election Coordinator Brook Thompson. "You could see the slippery slope that would lead to."
