Paul Krugman - Republican Party Hot on Furthuring the Suffering of the Miserable! (Why?)

I love people who tell it how it is, and Paul Krugman never minces words or candy coats anything.

The Republican Party went from a labor centered party in the 50's and 60's to a party that favor's big business, the ultra wealthy and those fueled with hate.

My question is, who in the late 60's and early 70's hijacked your party and who is going to step up and bring the party back to the middle of the political spectrum.

Extremism, or the Tea Party aka Pat Robertson bullshit has gotten the GOP brand nowhere and even long time Republican friends of mine are disgruntled and disillusioned with what your party has become.

I do believe a guy like Chris Christie is a step in the right direction, but a GOP leader in the House must emerge that is willing to take control of the radicals and whip them into order and stop their outlandish antics.
The whole, even bad press is good press thing might go well for the Hollywood scene, but it's a nightmare on the hill for a party clinging to hopes of stopping a Dem takeover of Congress as a whole.

GOP, do yourself a favor, I bet John Boehner, Speaker of the House from Ohio is a great guy, but he is not the man to make this miracle happen. Your party needs a strong leader, that will stand up to the fringe elements in your party and rally the troops when needed.

Truly, a guy who cries on 60 minutes, is not that man...

Repubs Pressure Bunning to Quit in 2010

Some Republicans are privately urging Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) to step down at the end of his term amid growing concerns that he can't win reelection in 2010. According to two GOP sources, leading Republican fundraisers in Kentucky are hesitant to raise money for Bunning and have told him he should not seek a third term. "They want him to realize he's had a good run but that it's time to move on. These people want to win, and they realize he could easily lose this seat," said one leading Kentucky Republican operative who requested anonymity to speak candidly.

McCain Reacts to a Party Under Palin

This honestly has to be the strangest response to a political question I have even seen.
He's (McCain) either having a senior seizure moment or showing his true feelings for Sarah Palin.
In the end, I truly believe McCain has the same feelings about Sarah Palin as the rest of us.

Michael Reagan- Obama 'absolutely admirable' for not taking public funding

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during the commercial break after this segment aired.

These guys were shocked by this to start with and the fact that a big name Republican strategist backed up Obama instead of attacking him must have been shocking.

I appreciate the guy going from his gut and taking the high road knowing the vultures he was surrounded by.

When Matt Drudge tried to seduce David Brock?

(For the record, I'm not a gay basher. I just despise Gay Republican hypocrites who use lbgt as a way to stoke people's emotions for their political gain...)

From page 283 of David Brock’s book "Blinded By The Right"

Drudge picked me up at a friend’s house in the Hollywood Hills in his red Geo Metro, arriving with an impressive bouquet of yellow roses. Jesus, I thought, Drudge thinks we’re going on a date. After dinner at the famed West Hollywood restaurant Dan Tana’s, he suggested we go bar hopping along the gay strip on Santa Monica Boulevard, which Drudge navigated like a pro. … (Six months hence, I received the following e-mail message from Drudge, under the subject heading “XXX.” Drudge wrote: “Laura [Ingraham] spreading stuff about you and me being *F-ooops* buddies. I should only be so lucky. “)

Just goes to show that the many hardcore Republican gay haters like Matt Drudge are either in the closet or very openly gay themselves.
This seems to be a common theme among the Republican elite.

Drudge is part of the LBGT community.

Visit the LBGT, I mean Drudge report..
