Condi Rice- We all agree that there was no groupthink taking place in the White House

The definition of groupthink:

A mode of thinking that people engage in when they are deeply involved in a cohesive in-group, when the members' strivings for unanimity override their motivation to realistically appraise alternative courses of action.

Condi now denies it happening with an example of one:

STEPHANOPOULOS: Is it fair -- is that a fair criticism of the Bush White House, particularly in the run-up to the war on Iraq? And could you have done a better job in airing dissenting views on the WMD?

RICE: Oh, we talked a lot about dissenting views. The idea that, somehow, within the Bush White House, there weren't dissenting views during this period of time is simply not true. But the intelligence didn't permit, frankly, much in the way of alternatives for the weapons of mass destruction.

Yeah, Ok Condi.
There was no concerted effort to forge intelligence or justify a war crimes attack of Iraq? Sorry, but weren't born yesterday.

Dick Cheney's White House (you heard me right) got the war he wanted and his various companies made billions off luxurious war contracts.
Everyone involved was a winner except those brave soldiers who lost their lives for the control of Iraq's oil and a strong U.S. presence in the region.

White House Aides Tried to Hide E-mails

White House hides the truth away from the public again.

These guys just have no honesty or integrity when it comes to following protocol. Election rules and full disclosure/public record? Forget about it. They are very good, devious snakes who are well-skilled in hiding the truth of their respective political misdeeds.

I thought the Republicans were this party of high moral values and purity with all things being fair and true? Yet again we get another gleaming example of the hypocritical b.s. they spew every election cycle, and yes, we will get to hear more than enough to make us want to pull our ears out coming soon in 2008.

White House staff are using non-governmental e-mail addresses to avoid leaving a paper trail of their communications, a senior congressman charged Monday.

In a pair of letters Monday, House Oversight and Investigations Committee Chairman Henry A. Waxman, D.-Calif., asked the Republican National Committee and the Bush-Cheney '04 Campaign to preserve e-mails sent and received by White House officials using domains controlled by the two groups.

The King (Bush) Prefers D.C. Residents Not Have The Right To Vote

White House Opposes D.C. Vote - washingtonpost.com

We again see how the Bush White House doesn't honestly give a damn about people's right to vote.
All the care about is a new seat in Congress that will be created in a heavily Democratic favored district.
My thought on this, isn't that the entire country at this point?
It really seems like reality or news of the GOP led Congress's buttwhipping in recent elections have failed to reach the White House yet.
Hello. constitution, big time tea party, no taxation without representation.
Remember any of this people?

The White House declared its opposition yesterday to a bill that would give the District its first full seat in the House of Representatives, saying it is unconstitutional, and a key Senate supporter said such concerns could kill the measure.

"The Constitution specifies that only 'the people of the several states' elect representatives to the House," said White House spokesman Alex Conant. "And D.C. is not a state."

He declined to say whether President Bush would veto the bill, but the White House appeared to be sending a message to Congress just as momentum for the measure was building. It cleared two House committees this week, and the Democratic leadership has vowed to pass it on the House floor next week.

The bill seeks to increase the House permanently to 437 seats, from 435. In a bipartisan compromise, one seat would go to the overwhelmingly Democratic District, which has a nonvoting delegate in the House. The other would go to the next state in line to pick up a seat based on the 2000 Census: Utah, which leans Republican.

Karl Rove Complacent in U.S. Attorney Purge, May Have Had Larger Role Than First Thought

E-Mails Highlight Rove's Role In Firings, Bush's Top Political Adviser Took More Active Role In Dismissal Of U.S. Attorneys - CBS News

It looks like the devil himself, may have had a larger role than first admitted to by the White House in the purging of several prominent and successful U.S. Attorneys.
Special negative attention was given to those attorneys who practiced in heavily contested battleground congressional race states and which they refused to illegally investigate Democratic politicians running for those heavily contested seats.

I really hope this is the end of the line for Rove.
His very existence in the current Bush White House lays credence to the fact that incompetence and loyalty outweigh performance and doing the right thing.
I would go as far to brand Rove a traitor to this country, to the very values, freedoms and ideologys this great country was built on.

If there is any justice in this world, this man must go to prison, be locked away for years to come in a situation where the warden throws away the key.
Then again, this is the cruel world of politics where justice, fairness and truth are often not good bedfellows...

E-mails released this week, including a set issued Thursday night by the Justice Department, appear to contradict the administration's assertion that Mr. Bush's staff had only limited involvement in the firings of eight U.S. attorneys, which Democrats have suggested were a politically motivated purge. Each new piece in the rapidly unfolding saga of how the prosecutors came to be dismissed has made it more difficult for the White House to insulate itself from the controversy. The latest e-mails between White House and Justice Department officials show that Rove inquired in early January 2005 about firing U.S. attorneys.
