Funny, almost ironic political cartoon comparing the images of the Iranian leadership and the Republicans.
The GOP took the extreme, Tea Party backed stance and backed off quickly as polling took an immediate nose dive.
Some Republicans are privately urging Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) to step down at the end of his term amid growing concerns that he can't win reelection in 2010. According to two GOP sources, leading Republican fundraisers in Kentucky are hesitant to raise money for Bunning and have told him he should not seek a third term. "They want him to realize he's had a good run but that it's time to move on. These people want to win, and they realize he could easily lose this seat," said one leading Kentucky Republican operative who requested anonymity to speak candidly.
Killing unions is priority one for the Republicans, not the wellness of the people. Glad to see that money is always more important than constituents well being.
Today at noon, Senators Ensign, Shelby, Coburn and DeMint will hold a press conference in the Senate Radio/TV Gallery. They would appreciate our support through messaging and attending the press conference, if possible. The message they want us to deliver is:
1. This is the democrats first opportunity to payoff organized labor after the election. This is a precursor to card check and other items. Republicans should stand firm and take their first shot against organized labor, instead of taking their first blow from it.
2. This rush to judgment is the same thing that happened with the TARP. Members did not have an opportunity to read or digest the legislation and therefore could not understand the consequences of it. We should not rush to pass this because Detroit says the sky is falling.
The sooner you can have press releases and documents like this in the hands of members and the press, the better. Please contact me if you need additional information. Again, the hardest thing for the democrats to do is get 60 votes. If we can hold the Republicans, we can beat this.
The people pretty much spoke out against Republican rule by their votes and even still, the Republicans didn't get the point. How bad do things need to get before the GOP decided to go back to it's core principals and make things right again in this regard?
Attorney General Mukasey collapsed and lost consciousness during speech in Washington, the AP reported. He was giving a speech at a Federalist Society dinner at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.
Bob Schieffer spoke with Gov. Bobby Jindal of La. and Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich about what direction the Republican Party will take after its loss in this year's presidential election.
When you have hit rock bottom as a party, the only way to look is up....
To put this in simple terms, the Republican Conservatives failed on every level this election cycle. They really need to put forward a leader like Howard Dean who can look ahead and change the way the "good ole' boys" network runs. Until the Republicans/conservatives decide to change and evolve as a party, they will continue their fruitless uphill political battles and will not return to power.
Fox News' Carl Cameron said the event was "a little bit disturbing" for McCain's prospects.
"Last night in Miami Sen. McCain arrived for a midnight rally and had more than 10,000 people in Miami. Today in Tampa, for a morning event, it's a small crowd, only about 1,000. And I can tell you is it looks like it was set up with the perimeter and all for about 10 times this crowd. In addition, you'll note that there are no actual McCain signs here. This is one of the events that is put on, ostensibly paid for by the Republican Party."
I'm sorry but this guy reminds me of a mindless robot being controlled by his GOP masters. Everything that comes out of his mouth are classic Republican talking points. I wonder, are the GOP faithful like Thompson able to think for themselves or they sheep for life?

Federal privacy law restricts U.S. immigration agencies from disclosing information about citizens and permanent residents, and DHS policy similarly limits disclosures about the status of legal and illegal immigrants. Asylum-seekers are granted greater protection, because of the sensitive nature of their claims and the risks of retaliation.
In a statement, a spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said the matter has been referred to the agency's Office of Professional Responsibility and its parent department's inspector general.
"They are looking into whether there was a violation of policy in publicly disclosing individual case information," ICE spokeswoman Kelly Nantel said. "We can't comment on individual cases."
