Grand Old Party Moves On

Watch CBS Videos Online

Bob Schieffer spoke with Gov. Bobby Jindal of La. and Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich about what direction the Republican Party will take after its loss in this year's presidential election.

When you have hit rock bottom as a party, the only way to look is up....

David Brooks on failures of conservative movement

To put this in simple terms, the Republican Conservatives failed on every level this election cycle.
They really need to put forward a leader like Howard Dean who can look ahead and change the way the "good ole' boys" network runs.
Until the Republicans/conservatives decide to change and evolve as a party, they will continue their fruitless uphill political battles and will not return to power.

Why Republicans Want To Paint Bush As "The Lone Gunman"

Rumors About Romney Aides "Completely False"

Mike Galanos, CNN: "Katie, a report I read, help me out here on this one, I'm not sure if you heard this, there was some Romney aides that now came into the McCain campaign, and it was the Romney aides that began spreading the dirt about Sarah Palin and basically in a fight already to see who is going to lead the party in the future. Any truth to that?"

Katie Connolly, Newsweek: Absolutely not. Not from what I know. I think that's completely false.

GOP leader- Rebuild party based on 'sanctity of marriage'

Yeah, go with the whole alternative marriage hate thing again.
We all saw how well that went this time around.

Please keep giving away elections GOP, your making things way to easy for Democrats and people like me.

FRED THOMPSON ON MEET THE PRESS (pt.1)

I'm sorry but this guy reminds me of a mindless robot being controlled by his GOP masters.
Everything that comes out of his mouth are classic Republican talking points.
I wonder, are the GOP faithful like Thompson able to think for themselves or they sheep for life?

FRED THOMPSON ON MEET THE PRESS (pt.2)

I'm sorry but this guy reminds me of a mindless robot being controlled by his GOP masters.
Everything that comes out of his mouth are classic Republican talking points.

GOP operatives may have broken the law in spreading 'Obama's aunt' smear

Federal privacy law restricts U.S. immigration agencies from disclosing information about citizens and permanent residents, and DHS policy similarly limits disclosures about the status of legal and illegal immigrants. Asylum-seekers are granted greater protection, because of the sensitive nature of their claims and the risks of retaliation.

In a statement, a spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said the matter has been referred to the agency's Office of Professional Responsibility and its parent department's inspector general.

"They are looking into whether there was a violation of policy in publicly disclosing individual case information," ICE spokeswoman Kelly Nantel said. "We can't comment on individual cases."

GOP go Rovian and break federal law....

McCain Reacts to a Party Under Palin

This honestly has to be the strangest response to a political question I have even seen.
He's (McCain) either having a senior seizure moment or showing his true feelings for Sarah Palin.
In the end, I truly believe McCain has the same feelings about Sarah Palin as the rest of us.

KAY HAGEN RESPONDS TO DOLE’S ‘GODLESS’ AD

I'm glad she is coming out swinging against a very dark and dirty political ad campaign being ran against her.

Michael Reagan- Obama 'absolutely admirable' for not taking public funding

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during the commercial break after this segment aired.

These guys were shocked by this to start with and the fact that a big name Republican strategist backed up Obama instead of attacking him must have been shocking.

I appreciate the guy going from his gut and taking the high road knowing the vultures he was surrounded by.

Hardcore Republican Dennis Prager- Equality Is NOT An American Value

Prager, who calls Bachmann a “wonderful, wonderful extraordinary human being,” addressed the brouhaha by telling how he would’ve dealt with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews — by asking Matthews if he believes there are “American values” in the first place; if Matthews agrees, then “logic 1.1″ dictates that some people must hold anti-American values.

He added that both parties once upheld the “American value system” — the Democrats in the era of Kennedy and Truman — but the “Sixties Generation, the radicals, have taken over one of our two parties. They must be stopped!” People who “vote blue,” he added, “don’t know they’re voting radical.”

No fan of the Enlightenment, Prager added, “Equality, which is the primary value of the left, is a European value, not an American value.”

Nice, if you aren't a Republican, you are worth less than dirt and you don't deserve to live a decent life.
These guys definitely have some issues.

Phony flier says Virginians vote on different days

A phony State Board of Elections flier advising Republicans to vote on Nov. 4 and Democrats on Nov. 5 is being circulated in several Hampton Roads localities, according to state elections officials.

In fact, Election Day, for voters of all political stripes, remains Nov. 4.

The somewhat official-looking flier - it features the state board logo and the state seal - is dated Oct. 24 and indicates that "an emergency session of the General Assembly has adopted the follwing (sic) emergency regulations to ease the load on local electorial (sic) precincts and ensure a fair electorial process."

More on this story here....

Looks like a page from the Karl Rove playbook if you ask me.
Republicans hard at work again.
It must be horrific for them to believe over 75% of the eligible voters are coming out to vote this election cycle.
They know they can't win on the issues alone so denying/corrupting the voting process is the only card they have to play.
What's really sad is the dishonorable depths the GOP has fallen to.
