IDF prepares s. Lebanon civil rule

OC Northern Command Maj.-Gen. Udi Adam acknowledged in a briefing at Northern Command headquarters in Safed on Sunday afternoon that the commander of the IDF's civil administration unit had already begun preparations toward the possibility of instituting a military administration in areas captured by the IDF over the last week.


So much for the whole "we just want our soldiers back...and some safety...and..." line of crap that Israel has been feeding the world.

It's the second helicopter crash in less than a week. The word is that Hezbollah has their hands on some shoulder-to-air missiles capable of taking down anything in the air, but it's been said that chances are slim that the helicopter was shot down. So what's left? Shoddy maintenance? You tell me.

Iraqi Shi'ite militia ready head to Lebanon to fight

A senior member of Muqtada al-Sadr's Iraqi Shi'ite militia, the Mahdi Army, says the group is forming a squadron of up to 1,500 elite fighters to go to Lebanon.

The plan reflects the potential of the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah to strengthen radical elements in Iraq and neighboring countries and to draw other regional players into the Lebanon conflict.

Quite amusing...apparently, the State Department and the charter company couldn't decide who was going to pay for the cost of lodging for Lebanese-American evacuees, so Condi's aides got an earful about it from the angry travelers.

Olmert insists that the international media isn't showing how brutal the Hezbollah can be. He must be forgetting that the Hezbollah are not the country of Lebanon or it's citizens. He is also crying about the fact that Israel, the "victim," is being portrayed as an aggressor. You know what they say: if the shoe fits....
