Frist Lacks Votes To Overcome Bolton Filibuster
The often abrasive and abusive US Ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, may find his stay at the UN short-lived.
Many who have had the joy of working with Bolton say he is often rude and arrogant, and he brings a sense of "cowboy diplomacy" to the UN which often derails or shuts down new projects altogether.
Republican Majority leader Bill Frist is running a losing campaign to avoid a filibuster and bring about closure, which would allow for an immediate up or down vote. Frist is currently two votes short of the votes needed to stop a Democratic-led filibuster of the embattled Bolton.
I really hope he gets shot down again, like he did the first time around. The U.S. needs to send a team player to the U.N., not another Bush-clone bully that isn't going to play ball and allow operations to move forward.
It's just about time for that well-earned pink slip, Mr. Bolton.
