This is how they roll in the local Rochester Minnesota Public School System.
Call to attention how a McKinney-Vento Act local representative (Mellissa Brandt),
is not doing her job correctly (at all?) and get a phone call from a police liaison
trying to quite you and lean on you, directly violating your "free speech" and
"civil rights" protections as a citizen of this fine country.
No to mention your rights as a local tax-payer, voter and parent of kids in these very schools.
All I can really do at this point is possibly meet with the leaders of the school corp.,
file a DOJ complaint and file the internal affairs complaint I just requested today.
The things that are ongoing in this area's schools aren't kosher especially if your kid has
an I.E.P. or is under the protections of both the ADA and the McKinney-Vento Act.
At some point, "as it has always been done", needs to be replaced with a, "ever evolving, growing, changing to reflect new technologies and idea's" approach in our kids future.
Right now the, we could care less, we have tenure and change will never happen, the old guard runs things.
I cannot imagine that those ideals will be that way forever,and I hope I'm a big part of the local change and reform movement here that rights a sinking, non efficient ship in my opinion.
