Hoekstra points to documents revealed in the New York Times which show that Saddam was much closer to having a nuclear bomb than many people thought.
CNN Late Edition host, Wolf Blitzer, interrupts Hoekstra claim that Iraq was close to having nuclear weapons. Blitzer reveals that Hoekstra is basing his disingenuous claim on document describing Iraq's capabilities prior to the first gulf war. Iraq was not allowed to retain the nuclear technology after the war."
