Openly gay candidates win elections in record numbers
Good. Everyone needs someone to represent them locally and in Washington. Let's just hope that the homophobes who are scared of catching the "Gay Plague" don't worry themselves into a heart attack.
Update: I just noticed this -- Henry Fernandez, who won a seat on the Lawrence Township School Board, making him the first openly gay person ever elected to any office in Indiana. Hooray, hometown voters!
Senate power hinges Virginia recount
Because the race was so close, it's an automatic recount. Sadly though, it could tie things up for weeks because, apparently, the recount can't even get started until November 27th. What the hell.

Yeah, Tom would know. I hope he's preparing himself for an ass-beatin' of another kind when he heads to prison.
