Taking Things Out of Context (Also Known As: Right-Wing Media Tricks)

Stephen Colbert had Rep. Robert Wexler on his show last night, and apparently, Wexler said something in a joking matter. It's the Colbert Report, right? Better Know a District? It's all just for fun.

Or it's supposed to be.

Now it seems that being seen on Colbert's show could potentially be a bad thing, if the material gets taken out of context.

Like what's already starting to happen with Wexler's joke about enjoying cocaine and prostitutes. Just see here: Congressman Admits Using Cocaine and Prostitutes on Colbert Show -- Really?

Here's the video, so you can see for yourself.

I find it a little amusing that even after the big White House Roast from a while back, people still think Stephen Colbert is a real reporter and what happens on his show is "news". Get a grip, people. It's this thing called "comedy". Humor...remember that, America?
