Bush Lies Even When The Subject Is About Fish.

You remember the fish thing we wrote about over the weekend, yes?

John over at AmericaBlog had something new to add. Amusing stuff.

Our intrepid readers have discovered that the White House transcript says (or now says) that Bush referenced a bass and not a perch. The question is whether the White House transcript said that initially, where the press got the "perch" language from, and whether anyone has it on film or tape? Perhaps someone from the German press can help us out.

Bush told the following to a German newspaper yesterday:

Bush told weekly Bild am Sonntag when asked about his high point since becoming president in January 2001.

"I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5 pound perch in my lake."

The only problem is that the world's record for the largest freshwater perch caught is 4 pounds 3 ounces.

So Bush either doubled the world record, and didn't report it, or he's a liar.

So...Bush either 1.) has a terrible memory, 2.) doesn't know his fish as well as he thinks he does, 3.) has a very debatable IQ, 4.) is a pathological liar, or 5.) all of the above.

Hell, even the poor, unsuspecting fish looks like its been photoshopped into the picture of the smiling chimp Bush with said fish, so I don't know anymore. I suppose I'll pick "all of the above".
