The Young Turks -- Focus On The Family Group Losing Focus On Their Own Family
Same old hypocritical bullshit from FOTF and Dobson. It is interesting to note, however, that Elsa Prince is the sister to Erik Prince, the leader of Blackwater -- yes, that same neo-con group that's been in hot water for smuggling, killings in Iraq, and even shooting Americans down in New Orleans during the Hurricane Katrina fiasco.

The Young Turks - Wanda Sykes Speaks Out Against Prop 8
I'm really glad more people are speaking out against the church sponsored hate campaigns and the desire of Mormon/Catholic leadership to break apart and destroy happy, successful gay/glbt families.
I'm really disgusted at what has been said and done by both churches.
They aren't preacher love, understanding, maybe "thou shall not judge", no they are pushing hate and bigotry.

Arnold Says Overturn Proposition 8 -- Republican Schwarzenegger Supports Same Sex Marriage California
Ronald Reagan's California successor follows in his footsteps in supporting a fairness issue, just as Reagan did when the far right petitioned to remove all teachers who were gay from public schools. Not so long ago in 1978 too. Scary that is how they think, but there you go. Truth wins.
Arnold Schwarzenegger sounds like he's working with the powers that be to make sure same sex couples can retain their right to marry that was summarily stripped from them by Proposition 8.
Hope this moves forward. Republicans need to figure out that Americans are tired of having the government in their bedrooms and deciding if they can marry the adult of their choice -- be they of a different race, same race, different color, same color, different sex, same sex and so on.

Dan Savage explains that those who voted for Proposition 8 most overwhelmingly were old people.
Bill-O Wants To Know Why No Protests At Black Churches
O'Reilly talks to Monica Crowley and Margaret Hoover about the protests over Prop 8 and wants to know why they're not protesting at the black churches. Hey Bill-O, maybe because they weren't the ones who sponsored the proposition?

Perkins claims gay people are 'rioting' over Prop 8
I love how these guys turn peaceful protests by glbt and hetero people into a smear campaign that these same people are rioting in the streets.
The reality of this situation is the fact that people are pissed off at the "smoke and mirrors" hate campaigns the Mormon and Catholic churches ran to persuade people to vote against proposition 8.
People want positive change and equal rights for All Americans, not the hate filled world being pushed by the church state.

Mormons And Catholics Upset At Being The Target Of Prop 8 Protests
News coverage of a protest that took place Friday night in response The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' participation in California's Proposition 8.
Huge Prop 8 Protest outside of Mormon Temple in Utah

I am a huge fan of free speech and people's freedoms.
I do draw the line though when "tax exempt" entities use their power and finances to lodge a hate campaign.
I guess I'm a rarity as I believe religion does have a place in the politics arena.
When and where is the proper time and venue for the place is a total new question in itself?

If you like your injustice tinged with a little irony, 69% of African-Americans supported Proposition 8.
Expert- Lawyers 'all over the place' on constitutionality of Prop. 8
I still don't understand the hatred towards gays in this country and the church establishment.
I for one, believe gay couples deserve the same benefits and rights as their hetero counterparts.
The haters, in both the Mormon church and the Catholic church spent millions trying to defeat proposition 8.
Because you see, it's more Godly to spend people's donated money to stop the spread of "teh Gay" then feed the hungry or educate the poor.
I'm glad the big-money churches here in America have their priorities straight. (sarcasm)
I for one having several gay and bi friends will be glad when the lawyers rip this thing apart on constitutional grounds and finally set things right.
This is supposed to be America, land of the free, home of the brave, not the land of the "everyone has rights" but gay people.

Prop 8 spokesman says defeating gays like defeating Hitler
This is from an official Prop 8 rally in Sacramento on 10/28. Brad Dacus, an official Prop 8 spokesperson is speaking.
Here's the transcript:
"There was another time in history when people, when the bell tolled. And the question was whether or not they were going to hear it. The time was during Nazi Germany with Adolf Hitler. You see he brought crowds of clergy together to assure them that he was going to look after the church. And one of the members, bold and courageous, Reverend Niemand (sp?) made his way to the front and (inaudible) said "Hitler, we are not concerned about the church. Jesus Christ will take care of the church. We are concerned about the soul of Germany." Embarrassed and chagrined, his peers quickly shuffled him to the back. And as they did Adolf Hitler said, "The soul of Germany, you can leave that to me." And they did, and because they did bombs did not only fall upon the nation of Germany, but also upon the church and their testimony to this very day. Let us not make that mistake folks. Let us hear the bell! Vote on Proposition 8!"
I knew it was only a matter of time till someone decided to Godwin the preposition 8 issue.
What is it with these church guys and pure, unadulterated hate?
I have read the bible, 2 times through.
I'd swear there was scriptures on the theme of "though shall not judge"
Did Jesus mean everyone included or the holier than thou crowd can take a pass?
Religious haters and hypocrites, the word is full of them, Ugh.

Looking straight at the camera, the Senator says:
"Proposition 8 would be a terrible mistake for California. It's about discrimination and we must always say NO to that."
