I have to wonder, has hell frozen over?
Rupert Murdoch has agreed to host a campaign fundraiser for Hillary Clinton's re-election campaign.
The same Murdoch, who owns the conservative Fox New network which is pretty much a speaking piece for the Republican party.
This is a very interesting pairing.
Rupert Murdoch, the conservative media mogul whose New York Post tabloid savaged Hillary Clinton's initial aspirations to become a US senator for New York, has agreed to host a political fundraiser for her re-election campaign.
The decision underlines an incongruous thawing of relations between Mr Murdoch and Mrs Clinton, who in 1998 coined the phrase "vast rightwing conspiracy" to denounce critics of her husband, such as Fox News, the conservative cable channel owned by Mr Murdoch's News Corporation.
I understand his probable reasoning behind this. He's (Murdoch) hedging his bets and making sure he has the inside track if the Clinton political machine decides to make a strong run for the White House.
Murdoch may also be sensing the barrage of GOP losses come this November and he wants to support a winner, regardless of party.
And last, he is a businessman whose ultimate desire is to make money. He can make as much coin off Fox News being slanted to the right as he can if he re-aligns Fox News to be more of a moderate or Dem leaning channel.
Either way, it's all profits for the man...even though I have to admit I did a double-take when I first saw this story.
