Judge Won't Shutdown AT&T Eavesdropping Lawsuit
Score one for the people and the EFF in it's battle to put a end to the NSA's eavesdropping program of spying on all communications.
The "States Secret" complaint didn't even hold water as the judge on this case stated that many aspects of this program are now well known and have been publicly disclosed.
I hope that the end result of this would be violations of the "Telecommunications Privacy Act" which would result in $1000 fines and compensation per customers private records violated.
These companies need to be held accountable and forced to pay a huge sum for violating people's trust and privacy.
It has to be a strong message that hurts the bottom line and creates a huge financial determent so this doesn't happen again.
Hit these companies in the wallet and hit them hard.
