Paul Krugman - Republican Party Hot on Furthuring the Suffering of the Miserable! (Why?)
I love people who tell it how it is, and Paul Krugman never minces words or candy coats anything.
The Republican Party went from a labor centered party in the 50's and 60's to a party that favor's big business, the ultra wealthy and those fueled with hate.
My question is, who in the late 60's and early 70's hijacked your party and who is going to step up and bring the party back to the middle of the political spectrum.
Extremism, or the Tea Party aka Pat Robertson bullshit has gotten the GOP brand nowhere and even long time Republican friends of mine are disgruntled and disillusioned with what your party has become.
I do believe a guy like Chris Christie is a step in the right direction, but a GOP leader in the House must emerge that is willing to take control of the radicals and whip them into order and stop their outlandish antics.
The whole, even bad press is good press thing might go well for the Hollywood scene, but it's a nightmare on the hill for a party clinging to hopes of stopping a Dem takeover of Congress as a whole.
GOP, do yourself a favor, I bet John Boehner, Speaker of the House from Ohio is a great guy, but he is not the man to make this miracle happen. Your party needs a strong leader, that will stand up to the fringe elements in your party and rally the troops when needed.
Truly, a guy who cries on 60 minutes, is not that man...
