Billy Werber, the oldest living former major league baseball player and last surviving teammate of Babe Ruth, died Thursday morning at age 100. A superb athlete, Werber played alongside Ruth for part of his 11-year career in the majors, which ended in 1942. He was a solid third baseman who won a World Series in 1940 with the Cincinnati Reds. Werber batted .370 in that World Series and had 10 hits.
