FCC Combing Live TV And Sporting Events Tapes For Dirty Words
Now the FCC is going after broadcasts that might include vulgar remarks from unruly spectators, coaches, and athletes at live sporting events.
Quoting an executive from the article, "It looks like they want to end live broadcast TV".
I think he may be on to something. There really is no way to completely screen what happens on live TV without using tape delay and not actually showing the event in real-time. By then, what's the point of watching a live event?
The "fundie thought police" strike again, and this time, it's up to them to save us from the real, raw emotions of spectators at live events.
