The Lunch Rush.
Well, here's the start to a wonderful day:
U.S. Troops Accused of Killing Iraq Family; Five U.S. Army soldiers are being investigated for allegedly raping a young woman, then killing her and three members of her family in Iraq. Wow, another case! That makes three in the span of what...two months? (Not including the amount of time every other country knew about these crimes before we heard about them here.)
Breaking News: Senators already moving to nullify Supreme Court decision over Guantanamo Bay trials.
Guard to Miss Border Mission Deadline; yeah, Bush promised the border would be a priority, but you really see where his priorities are--thousands of miles away, not here. Is it obvious yet that his "promise" was just more pandering to appease the masses?
Just to prove that we do read from Republican-based sites: Bush Administration Quietly Plans NAFTA Super Highway; Bush Inc. wants to turn I-35 (which runs now from the tip of the Minnesota/Canada border to the Texas/Mexico border) into a super highway. If that's true, you can kiss more jobs good-bye. Is the death of union labor coming soon in this country?
Bin Laden Wants Zarqawi Buried in Homeland; at this point, does anyone believe it's really Osama doing the talking? Surely his liver failed years ago, and this is a look-alike. There's a link to video, also, but you must use IE 6 to view it (IE tab time, Firefox fans).
Cameron is first Tory to beat Blair on popularity; see, Tony, that's what you get for playing "Cowboys and Terrorists" with George Bush all these years instead of tending to domestic matters.
Lawmakers: NSA database incomplete; not much has changed other than lawmakers are saying that they didn't get as much data as was reported by USA Today (back in May). Verizon, T-Mobile, BellSouth, Qwest, etc. still deny doing business with Washington, and AT&T still doesn't give a rat's ass about its customers. What else is new?
White House Notifies Congress of Arms Deal; it's like Christmas in Pakistan, and George Bush is Santa Claus! Yeah...that means we are giving fighter jets and who knows what else to Pakistan. Who has "issues" with India. How smart does that sound to you?
Here's more about the whole Gitmo thing: Congressional Hearings on Guantanamo Set. It's like I said yesterday...it won't take long--and it didn't--for Georgie's pals in Congress to help him fight the Supreme Court's decision about the detainees. Now we know that anarchy is usually a term saved for instances when people say, "To hell with laws," and "chaos" begins. That's considered bad. However, what the hell do you call it when your own government decides to forget about the law?
And finally: CIA inspector tells Congress that Iraq weapons were really weapons of mass destruction. It's still developing. Will provide a link as soon as possible. Link is now up.
