Tens Of Thousands In NYC Protest War.

Source: AP News via My Way

A very large crowd of protestors, numbering in the tens of thousands, marched Saturday through lower Manhattan demanding an immediate withdrawal of troops in the war-torn country of Iraq.

Cindy Sheehan, actress Susan Sarandon, and the Rev. Jesse Jackson were among those in the march.

One would guess that several hundred undercover CIA and FBI agents were in the march also since this administration has a thirst for squelching the voice of dissent.

The demonstrators stretched for about 10 blocks as they headed down Broadway. Organizers said 300,000 people marched, though a police spokesman declined to give an estimate. There were no reports of arrests.
Cindy Sheehan, a vociferous critic of the war whose soldier son also died in Iraq, joined in the march, as did actress Susan Sarandon and the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

"End this war, bring the troops home," read one sign lifted by marchers on the sunny afternoon, three years after the war in Iraq began. The mother of a Marine killed two years ago in Iraq held a picture of her son, born in 1984 and killed 20 years later.

One group marched under the banner "Veterans for Peace."

This is definitely a start, even though I wonder what good it serves.

This White House has proven it doesn't listen to or care about what the public thinks, and those who actually have opinions for themselves "just don't get it."

Besides, the troops in Iraq will only come to go back into action in Iran so what's the point of them even coming home, period?

I'm not saying I don't want the troops home as I have several friends now fighting in the war zone; just saying that this current group is hellbent on war, and their war-mongering mentality isn't going to end anytime soon till they are said and done, completely out of the White House.

Really, the best cure-all for troops to come home is a strong election run by the Dems that forces a now-divided Congress to act.

Impeaching the presidential puppet and his puppet master would go long ways in ending this nations' military love with manifest destiny and war-mongering.

Several people--the troops are chief among them--probably can't wait for the elections in November to come any sooner.
