McClellan's
What a wonderful day Friday was for Washington, DC! Scott McClellan continued to wow the press as he always does by bringing out his greatest hits. I'm sure you'll recognize these tunes:
"This country is on a solid track under this president because of his leadership."
"We're more interested in looking at the results, not the polls."
"We are winning in Iraq."
"The economy is growing strong."
"We are engaged in a global war on terrorism."
"And we are making the world a safer place."
"We've got the enemy on the run."
"Saddam Hussein's regime was a threat."
"The President has made this a priority."
"The United States is to continue to emphasize the importance of democracy."
I think my personal favorite, which reflects the Russian media's rumors of a new cold war with the US, is this one:
"Democracies don't war with each other, democracies are peaceful countries."
I'm so sorry to see you head into retirement, considering we'll miss your lovely rays of sunshine in these dismal times, but I suppose we do have to make room for Tony Snow's "sobering" tunes:
"George Bush has become something of an embarrassment."
"No president has looked this impotent this long."
"He has become a classical dime-store Democrat."
And his wonderful Oklahoma! parody:
"George W. Bush is the boy who can't say no."
