The Nightly News Edition.

The Pentagon releases security video from 9/11; there's a slideshow gallery here, and the video is a javascript pop-up window beneath the slideshow.

A Georgia judge strikes down a ban on gay marriages, saying it violates the state constitution.

And now, even Verizon is doing the denial dance; "Verizon has not provided customer call data to the National Security Agency, nor had it been asked to do so, the company said in an e-mailed statement. The statement came a day after Atlanta-based BellSouth Corp. made a similar denial."

People are still worried about Bush's border plan, as well they should be; "The outstanding question is, is this really going to make a difference in terms of stemming illegal immigration?" said Andrew Krepinevich, military analyst with the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments. "When you look at a border that is several thousand miles long, it really is difficult to see how 6,000 Guardsmen are really going to make that much of a difference."

Snow "hugs the tar baby" at first press briefing; wow, and this guy is going to help the White House how?

FBI Secret Probes: 3,501 Targets in the U.S.; through a part of the Patriot Act known as "National Security Letters"...this all goes back to the fed who told ABC News that journalists are being snooped on right now to see if anyone else violated the law by leaking confidential information.

A conservative women's group, known as Concerned Women for America, launches a grassroots effort, targeting schools that accept homosexuality; "Every school district in America has an absolute responsibility to protect children while they are at school," the group writes in their 24-page audit plan. "There is no legitimate rationale for giving or implying endorsement of homosexual, bisexual or gender-variant behaviors among children of any age." I don't remember schools doing that when I attended, so what the hell?

Republican leadership approval hits an all-time low; in a couple of months, it looks like we'll be waving good-bye to a lot of those "freshman Republicans" from yesteryear...while a lot of Repubs need to go, don't start putting all of your faith in the Dems just yet.

New federal guidelines ask all females capable of conceiving a baby to treat themselves -- and to be treated by the health care system -- as pre-pregnant, regardless of whether they plan to get pregnant anytime soon; yeah, that's great as long as we don't start forcing people to follow these guidelines (especially women who choose to never conceive). A person still owns the right to their body in this country, right? I don't think that's been taken away yet.

Mexico Threatens Suits Over Guard Patrols; "Mexico warned Tuesday it would file lawsuits in U.S. courts if National Guard troops detain migrants on the border, and some officials said they fear the crackdown will force illegal crossers into more perilous areas to avoid detection." Yay, it's only been 158 years since our last war with Mexico!

Gore may run again in 2008; if he promises to divorce the dead weight around his ankles Tipper, then we'll talk.
