Thank God that won't be the case. It could have been, though, because he admits to being approached to replace Paul Tagliabue, but thankfully, for the rest of us who still enjoy watching football, he had to turn them down. The position for commissioner must be filled by August 18th, and Bush's term isn't over until January, obviously.
And finally, this is just cute.

Bush has said he will not run for president in 2008. His final term as governor ends in January, although he doesn't believe NFL officials will hold the position open until then.

Even if Bush wasn't specifically asked to be discreet, why in the hell would he choose to blab? It makes us think that, despite public denials, he's secretly toying with the possibility of running for President in 2008.
