Good evening, folks!
Well, what do we have here? The US, Britain, and France are pushing for sanctions if Iran continues its current plan of
But what's this?
...not the sweeping economic and military embargoes imposed on Iraq after its 1990 invasion of Kuwait.
Gee, and the reason for that could be that no one is dumb enough to play a game of bluff with Iran because they realize that Iran probably isn't bullshitting when their government says they will bomb us back into the Dark Ages.
What the U.N. Security Council's three veto-wielding Western members aim for are targeted sanctions, such as restricting trade in equipment with both civilian and military uses and banning travel and freezing the assets of Iranians who oversee the country's nuclear program.
The fellows up in Washington are likely to get nothing they want, or if they do, it's going to be a long while before they see results because China and Russia aren't exactly running to offer their support right now considering their ties to Iran.
"I think it's going to be very difficult to get anything by Russia and China unless Iran becomes even more belligerent," said James Phillips, a research fellow on the Middle East at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.
Well, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is doing a good job of making Iran look like its run by crazy bastards when he keeps mentioning that Israel should be wiped off the face of the Earth. Now refusing to stop uranium enrichment is one thing; it's their country, and also, how can countries like the US who has their own nuclear program
Regardless of your refusal to stop your enrichment program, here's hoping you're telling the truth about your nuclear intentions because if you aren't, the cowboy and his posse will be after your ass, too, if they aren't already there.
