Gonzales Pressures ISPs On Data Retention, Recording All Net Activity For 2 Years.

Source: ZDnet.com

Attorney General Albert Gonzalez and FBI Director Robert Mueller are trying their hardest to take more of your civil rights. Now they want all ISPs to keep data of all your internet activities for 2 years.

Hello, it's the USSR. They're on hold on the other line, and they want their oppressive government and Secret Police/KGB back.

In a private meeting with industry representatives, Gonzales, Mueller and other senior members of the Justice Department said Internet service providers should retain subscriber information and network data for two years, according to two sources familiar with the discussion who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The closed-door meeting at the Justice Department, which Gonzales had requested, according to the sources, comes as the idea of legally mandated data retention has become popular on Capitol Hill and inside the Bush administration. Supporters of the idea say it will help prosecutions of child pornography because in many cases, logs are deleted during the routine course of business.

I really wonder when people are going to start standing up for their rights in this country.

They are slowly chipping away, one by one...running under the radar trying not to raise suspicions as they take as they please. It's only a matter of time till all rights are gone if this "police state" era of rights-grabbing keeps moving forward. Then people will have to try 5 times as hard to get back what they are watching slip carelessly through their fingers right now.

When are people finally going to say "enough is enough"?
