Protester Wenyi Wang Arrested, Silenced On White House Lawn For Speaking Out Against Chinese President Hu Jintao.

Video is here.

It's official now--the United States is no different than the Chinese on freedom of speech and expression as the case was proven today on the White House grounds.

Wenyi Wang was forcefully assaulted by Secret Service, pulled down, and quickly whisked away in a incident comparable to that of what would happen in China if a dissident spoke out.

Her high crime was shouting the following:

"President Bush, stop him from killing"..."Stop persecuting the Falun Gong," she yelled. She also shouted in Chinese, "President Hu, your days are numbered. No more time for China's ruling party."

I guess the Constitution is put on hold when murderous, oppressive, Chinese presidents are our country's guest on official visits.

HU HECKLED ON SOUTH LAWN: 'YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED'

The arrival ceremony for Chinese president Hu Jintao was interrupted by a protester who appealed to President Bush to stop Hu from 'persecuting the Falun Gong,' a banned religious movement in China.

The woman began shouting from the top of a camera stand located directly in front of Hu and Bush.

The woman was taken away by uniformed secret service officers.

Minutes before the incident, our ever wonderful president had the audacity to blurb the following:

The incident occurred right after Bush urged Hu to allow Chinese to 'speak freely'. The woman, had a temporary pass with a big 'T' on it, also unfurled a yellow 'Falun Gong' banner.

And one would think, the president defacto of the largest democratic country in the world would have stood up and said something along the lines of, "Let the woman speak...this is her freedom here," or something along those lines?

Well, not exactly. GW's first concern is comforting the Chinese president; people's individual freedoms just don't even register a blip on the radar anymore, you know.

The woman was taken away by uniformed secret service officers.

Bush leaned over and whispered to Hu, 'You're okay.' Hu, who had stopped talking briefly, then resumed speaking.

And to further compound things, CNN should now change its name to mean Chinese News Network as they played a huge part in censoring the incident from the American version of the CNN International live feed. (Thanks for aiding the oppressive Chinese government, CNN...quite plainly, you suck.)

On China TV: As Hu was speaking when yells of protesters became audible, the screen went black. When the feed came back the screen once again went black when woman was again heard. During CNN International's post-speech commentary, at mention of south lawn heckler, the screen also went black again. The CNN feed returned when the incident ended.

I understand China TV's blacking out of the incident, but CNN International? That's just beyond wrong and shows the where, how, and why traditional media fails and alternative media outlets like us bloggers tell the whole, truthful story.

This whole incident just shows the level of disregard the president has for his sworn duty to uphold the Constitution.

It's also a sad state of affairs when a woman is arrested for exercising her rights and when an American-owned media company helps the Chinese not only censor this incident from the Chinese public but from the American viewing audience, too.

Where are our American-born freedoms?

Can someone please explain to me, using an example, how freedom and democracy were best served today?

By sanctioning the arrest of Wenyi Wang and not openly speaking out against her oppression, Bush is no better than the torture-loving, murderous, Chinese president he is in company with right now.
