I had a strong feeling that the recent Karl Rove demotion had more to it than the White House spin we were all being spoon-fed, and well, it did.
An ABC News story filed Thursday shows insiders commenting that Rove's apparent demotion had everything to do with the ongoing CIA leak inquiry and his failures in packaging Social Security reform.
Or in plain English, 1.) he's been a dud on Social Security, and 2.) he or someone in the Bush White House has news that a flood of indictments are coming down any day now against Rove.
I think it's more about the criminal indictments than the failures part. Besides, this administration has made screwing up things a job that rewards one with promotions, not a demotion or termination.
Working in this administration has to be the only job in America where you can be an absolute failure, and people love you for it.
An ABC News story filed Thursday signals that insiders have tied Rove's apparent demotion to the CIA leak inquiry and his failures in packaging Social Security reform.
"The Rove move was a surprise, and a way for the new White House chief of staff to make a very public statement that big changes were ahead. In his years crafting the political career of President Bush, Rove and his power has never been checked -- until now," ABC wrote.
"Insiders say the move is not just window dressing," the network added. "They say that Rove's role in the CIA leak investigation may have also triggered the move, and that Rove has not proven as adept at the nuts and bolts of policy as he is at political strategy, citing the failure of Social Security reform and the lack of a compelling domestic policy agenda."
Two things come from this.
Daddy Bush fired Rove for his bastardly deeds, and now the son is close to doing the same. I seriously think it's just about frog walk/arrest time for Karl Rove.
This truly is a White House in chaos right now.
