Biz Keeps Eye On fake United 93 Movie.

Source: Variety

I have to hand it to Hollywood for making a movie and often ignoring the facts of the situation in doing so.

There is rampant speculation that the doomed United Flight 93 was shot down over the now historic field into which it crashed.

Do we have a movie that covers this theory--one supported by visual witnesses who saw fighter planes and a possible missile lodge near the site? No.

Instead, we get the triumphant propaganda treatment deserving of an official film made by the government.

Attention is riveted on tonight's premiere of "United 93" at the Tribeca Film Festival, not only because of the subject matter but also because of the business gamble involved.

Studio tracking on the pic is ambiguous: By a slim margin the film is the top choice among males, but it's also registering a high percentage of "definitely not interested."

The weekend's other new releases include "Akeelah and the Bee," "RV" and "Stick It."

The response is not unexpected. Indeed many industry insiders were surprised "United 93" got Universal's greenlight at all.

Of course, we have Col. Don de Grand-pre who mysteriously had a heart attack after this interview, telling the world that this plane was shot down by order of Vice President Dick Cheney.

LetsRoll has discovered the name of the pilot as well as all other pertinent information regarding this incident;

"At precisely 0938 hours, an alarm was sounded at Langely Air Force Base, and those whom were on call, drinking coffee, were scrambled. Thus the 119th Fighter Wing was off for an intercept.

They, the Happy Hooligans, a unit of 3 F-16 aircraft, were ordered to head toward Pennsylvania. At 0957 they spotted their target; After confirmation orders were received, A one Major Rick Gibney fired two sidewinder missiles at the aircraft and destroyed it in mid flight at precisely 0958;

He was awarded a medal from the Governor one year later for his heroic actions. As well as Decorated by Congress on 9/13/2001. The Happy Hooligans were previously stationed in North Dakota, and moved to Langley Air Force base some months before 911 occurred on a "Temporary assignment."

Major Rick Gibney did as he was ordered and did nothing criminal. He was merely following orders, of which he had no choice. Please do not harrass this man or bother him for doing what his CO & ultimately George Bush, ordered him to do. Major Rick Gibney has no reason to feel guilty nor regret following orders. The fault lies with his superiors, and a one, certain President George Bush who planned and engineered 911. Please do not heap any kind of abuse onto this man, a crack fighter pilot, one of the best in our nation, for doing what he was trained and ordered to do. He is a good man, honest and full of Integrity as well as unlimited discipline. He is a patriot, and was lied to and deceived.

The heroic pilot part of the Happy Hooligans, a unit of 3 F-16 aircraft, Major Rick Gibney:

I guess this goes more to which story you believe: the government story made up to make them look good or the one supported by testimony from those who shot the plane down?

And what about all of those who mysteriously died from rather odd circumstances soon after the plane was shot down because you know, dead men tell no secrets.

One has to appreciate when Hollywood is complacent in the dummying down of American citizens in relation to factual events. No one knows exactly what happened that day, but millions who view this movie will completely believe the "let's roll" version concocted by the current administration. Because the Bush Administration has never lied to us about such matters before, and I'm sure they wouldn't start, right? [rather obvious sarcasm]

Again, we are crossing a dangerous line when Hollywood backs up government propaganda rather than tell the true story of a rather tragic, historic event. I'm sure the families of the victims of United Flight 93 that crashed was shot down will sure thank Hollywood, too, for having to relive the memory of that horrific day.
