If Hillary doesn't stop the whole "distance myself from Bill when trouble pops up" thing, the Democrats are in for some trouble themselves in upcoming elections.
Hillary Clinton, a leading opponent of DP World's takeover of some US port operations, was this week forced to admit that she did not know her husband had advised Dubai leaders on how to handle the growing dispute.
I find this a little tough to swallow. Hillary is supposed to be a smart woman, and it's not too unreasonable to think that she's smart enough to keep tabs on a husband who keeps getting into questionable jams. Most likely, this is another case of distancing since she's trying to get re-elected this year, and since Bill's ties to Dubai leaked out, she's covering her arse.

Thinking about this fiasco the other night while watching the first season of 24, I was surprised by how similar Hillary is to Sherry Palmer, the would-be First Lady. Apparently, I'm not the only one who sees this.
1.) Sherry Palmer tries to get her husband's aide to seduce him so she can keep control over his "anxieties" about the election because she is determined to make it to the White House, and when he realizes this, she plays innocent.
This reminds me of "Bill and his many women". Hillary had to have known--if not had suspicions--about Bill's frisky hands. I imagine she either ignored him or used her jealousy to further her own political pursuits (which isn't such a terrible thing since "anything goes" in the world of politics).
2.)Sherry uses Carl Webb to help keep her son and an old murder he is connected to out of the press because it could ruin her husband's career. This results in the death of the only person Keith trusts, his therapist.
Why am I reminded of Vince Foster and Whitewater here?
In any case, Hillary shouldn't be surprised about Bill's dealings with the UAE.
Mrs Clinton's own senatorial financial disclosure forms reveal that her husband earned $450,000 giving speeches in Dubai in 2002.
Officials from the UAE also donated between $500,000 and $1m to fund Mr Clinton's presidential library in Arkansas.
The UAE has also contributed $100m to Hurricane Katrina relief funds--which Mr Clinton had a leading role in raising.
Really, in the end, this is all about as believable as "Cheney and Bush had nothing to do with the Plame leak".
